Change ActiveSync default folder location

Does anyone know how to change the default location that ActiveSync uses to sync? It's currently under My Documents. I want to change it from the default path C:\My Documents\[folder name] to D:\[folder name]\[sub folder name].

I already tried the change to the Briefcase Path. This does not work and appears to only change the path within My Documents. I want to change the complete path including drive letters.

Hi amkrap, welcome to the forum! I found a thread that talks about the same subject and it seems that the person asking was successful in changing the folder. Try it out here, and let me know if it works or not.

Hi, I have a question too:
Is it normal that on each sync connect of my Qtek 9100, the sync software tells me that there is already a device with the same name connected, and that i have to change the name, if not it doesnt sync

I don't think that is normal. I have two questions, How are you connecting to your computer, and how are you disconnecting from your computer?

Well, I use the USB cable and probably I made a mistake the first two connections, of starting manually the program on the desktop PC. And at the end I just plugged out.
But now since i just plug-in the USB it's working correctly.

I too have that question. Have followed instructions located in the reply which redirects one to is there a way to change the default Active sync folder for "files" in WinXP? - Brighthand.com Smartphone and PDA Discussion Forums. The problem is Activesync 4.5 overwrites those commands/does not work after changes.

Any ideas. I'd like the folder to be posted in All Users where everyone can get to the items.
