Description of the problem:
I bought a HP iPAQ RX 1950 (it's the same as 1955, but for South America), and whenever I install the Activesync (version 4.0 and 4.2) it works perfectly the first time, but when I try to sincronize my PDA the next day, it doesn't seems to work. I've tried uninstalling the program and it doesn't work either. So I tried to do a Hardware reset and uninstall the Activesync and install it again, and it worked.
Obiusly I do not want to do this, because every time I do a Hardware Reset I lose everything.
Does anybody know how can I solve this problem?. Thamks.
Had the same problem with the mio P350. On my PC it was the firewall, sysgate. Whatever i've tryed nothing seemed to work, not even the tips i've found on de MS site. After installing another firewall (tinyfirewall) the problem was solved. Maybe you have to look in that corner.
Thanks man, but it seems that the problem got solved by itself (I don't know how). I've installed Activesync 4.2 and it's syncronizing so far, but now the problem is that my PDA won't conect to the Internet (I'm plugging it to my PC, which has Internet). I've been reading other forums, and apparently the problem can be solved by going back to the version od the Activesync I had before (4.0). I'll see what I will do.
I am also new here, and I also purchased an iPaq rx1950 just days ago, and had exactly the same problem. I checked out all sorts of troubleshooting sites (seems its a common problem), and it turned out that the solution for me was just to use a different USB port on my computer! Apparently ActiveSync likes USB 1.1 better than USB 2.0. Go Figure.
