Cingular 8125 Pocket PC

I just purchased the Cingular 8125 and was wondering how I can get some neat free games and what software utilities that will make her run more efficient. Please let me know.

SPB Pocket Plus is a pretty good program..i just installed it on mine and once u mess around with it its pretty good..

hey before you start doing awhole lot of stuff, make sure your rom is up to date, the stock one is a lil trashy.

Hey, kinda new here, but will that work with the t-mobile MDA as well as the 8125? I know the phones are from the same place, and most of the time, i see people interchange them, but I wanted to make sure.

To check your ROM

Settings, System, Device Information

You want 2.25.11.1 WWE

I'm on 1.8.10.2 wwe but I tried getting the update from tmobiles website, and all i get is an error after the screen goes to a red blue and green screen.

umm i would just check, and get the MDA rom update.

yeah, no luck on either, but at least the t-mobile one had the right design of the phone shown.

Hit start. Then Settings. Then go under the system tab. Once in the system tab click on device information..On the Version tab your info should read as follows..(or at least i compared mine to a screen shot i saw of an updated one and it was the same)

ROM Verions: 2.25.11.1WWE
ROM date: 5/11/06
Radio Version: 02.25.11
Protocol Version: 4.1.13.12
ExtROM Version: 2.25.11.102

I believe those are up todate...if anyone could confirm that it would be great.

Who needs 2.25.11.1 WWE when you can get 2.26.10.2! The update was just released on Sunday and includes LOADS of fixes including A2DP and the imfamous "searching" fix. Check out the post here!

when reading up on the update...i actually download the upgrade but when i ran it..it said it you will lose information on your ppc when upgraded..what kind of information are they talkin about..

everything, it'll as if it came out of the box, but with an upgraded rom.

That is called hard reset. ROM upgrade erase all you data and ROM and then Write the new ROM upgrade.
So what you need to do is reinstall everything and configure it again...

that sucks..haha..but i didnt try it anyway since the upgrade was for a tmobile mda and no one was sure yet if it would work without any problems...

Stupid question, but define data? If I have contacts, etc stored on my SIM...what else is there to lose besides any downloaded stuff.

If my IT guy configured my HTC to use my Outlook account, he would have to reset that again?

All the things on your Outlook account won't be gone... once you connect your device to your computer via activesync it will automatically sync and update all of your Outlook account. But as you probably already know, you will lose downloaded stuff, such as games and software.

ive been trying to downlaod gaames onto my 8125 but qwhen i do i cant play them and i am lost on how to fix this?

what games, are you sure there for wm5 and not 2003ce? give us a specific game and a download link so we can check it out and c what you might be doing wrong.
