Is there any way of upgrading a Toshiba E740 from Windows Mobile 2002 to the 2003 version? If not which map program with voice directions works best with the Windows Mobile 2002.
Unfortunately Toshiba did not release a Windows Mobile 2003 upgrade because they said that it "didn't work" with the WiFi hardware. Whatever.
The older TomTom software works with the e740, I wouldn't be surprised if the newer software works as well. You just need the TomTom wired GPS adapter and the e740 cable. I found a cable here. Good luck!
Hi Tim you have been a great help in the past and I need you again. I remember you telling me you had or have a Toshiba E740. Do you know where I can get or download a Original Installation cd. I have the ATI expansion pack and it's owners manual says I have to use the Toshiba companion cd and click on the "Enhance your Pocket PC." part of the cd.

I got a sweet deal on a Dell X50v like new still under warranty. But I'm getting of topic. Do you know where I can get a copy of that Toshiba CD? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Glad I could help. About the CD, you could try to contact Toshiba directly or check on eBay, but watch out, some sellers are only selling compiled CDs and not the actual copy. Trust me, if I had the CD for this e740 somewhere I'd send it over, but unfortunately I'm not the CD type.
