Thumbs up Free easier keyboard entry for ppc

It looks like this free application has been out for a while now, but ive just installed it and i love it.

"Tengo" is a simplified text entry which allows you to use large sections of your keyboard rather than the individual tiny keys to input information and it then works out the words rather like predictive text on yer phone but with less buttons.
Keyboard accuracy is no longer required so you can use it on the bus, train boat etc as long as your not the driver, pilot or captain.
Its free and can be installed simply by using a cab file.
Its certainly worth a look.
A pretty good flash demo can be seen here
TENGO FREE
along with the free download.

enjoy it , I do.
and i'm not easily pleased

Well, after a few days trial, I have to admit I'm impressed. Even when writing new words, it's quicker than the keypad!

Thanks, Davey in the UK!!!

I'm glad you like it, Sherry! It seems the MDA with the new ROM insists on resetting back to the default keyboard every time I install a new program, but TENGO is a must have!

Help!

I've got Tengo installed and can access it thru Input but it isn't functioning as my keyboard. Its an option when I click the Keyboard in the center toolbar but it won't switch over. I can switch to Phone Pad and Transcriber as entry methods but when I try Tengo or Phraze-It (another program) it doesn't switch over. Can anyone help?

Must be an 8125 issue. I can't even access it to try it. Always reverts back to the built in soft keyboard.

Default Keyboard

Not sure what to suggest. I know with the 6700, you go to settings, input and then set it as the default.

Maybe contact the company directly for help??

Sherry might be right... I've had the same issue since I updated the ROM... but I think it only resets when I install a new software...

Hi Manny,

What do you mean you "updated the ROM?" Is there a new update that I don't know about? I'm really getting frustrated with the lack of memory when I install new programs or don't 'clean' out the phone enough. Maybe this is the reason?

Well, figured out my problem. When it asks me to reset the device, I select Cancel. Then, I completely shutoff my 8125 by holding the power button for ~3 seconds. Then, I turn my 8125 back on. It seems that a reset initiated by the software installation or by pressing the reset button doesn't allow the proper changes to the registry.

Sherry66: if you have a new phone, it should have the update in it already...

As for the memory issue, I suggest you get a 1 gig miniSD card and install the software there.
