Welcome to both of you, birks and paultonehk! Adding software to your Pocket PC is simple. In paultonehk's case, you can download World Cup Mobile 2006 for the Pocket PC here. Once you download the software you can just run it off of your desktop PC first. If your Pocket PC is already connected to your device with ActiveSync running you don't need to do anything else as the software should install automatically onto the device.
you can also use .CAB to install it directly to pocket pc, but this will install the application to the main memory. the solution to this is use CAB install. this apps is really neat, you can use this to install CAB files and install it in your desired location it maybe your main memory, or your expansion card.
Are you talking about setting your text message notification sound as a song? If so, I believe you can only set WAV files for this (not MP3s or WMAs). Let me know if this is what you were talking about.
The great thing about Pocket PCs is that you don't need a program like Ringo to get quality ringtones for your phone. Your Cingular 8125 natively supports MP3 ringtones! Just place it into the "Application Data\Sounds" folder. Alternatively you are able to use Ringo if you REALLY feel the need to. Check it out here:

Sorry it took a bit to reply, but here's how you go about adding custom text message notifications to Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC Phone Edition devices:
First you want to copy the sound you want to use to this folder using ActiveSync>Explore:
\Windows\Rings
Make sure you use a WAV files for best results.
Next, go to your phone application and then navigate to Start>Settings>Sounds & Notifications>Notifications Tab.
Then in the event drop down menu, select: Messaging: New text message.
Under the Play sound drop down menu, select the sound you want to play when you receive a text message.
You can repeat these steps for other notifications as well.
If you don't see the wav that you uploaded to your Pocket PC in the Play sound drop down menu let us know and we'll assist your further.
If you are using Win 2003se you can copy your Tones to \Windows directory.
And heres a tip if you want customized your Ring Tones location and add as many ring tones.
To set ur ringstones to run from Storage
Place all your downloaded ringtones from internal memory to storage(Create a new folder).
Code:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\Rin g\Directory registry key
Default value: "\Windows\Rings\"
Change it to: "\Storage Card\<your preferred directory>\" (Note that "\" at the end is extremely important!!!)
Place those ringtones into \Storage Card\<your preferred directory>\
i have this phone... k-jam i-mate and when i recieve a message the tone is sooo low that i can harldy hear it. is there a way that i can change the volume and make it louder??
Have you been able to change the volume before? Try tapping on the speaker icon at the top and move up the volume levels for both the Pocket PC and the Phone and see if that helps...
For Text Message Tone i think there's a limit of 6sec, sobetter make sure your tone that limit.
If you want to pump-up the volume for your custom tone try this:
Open the tone in Media Player in your Pc.
Play it and slider the volume bar to the loudest
Save it in a different name.
This works for me. You might also want to use the Movie Maker of Windows XP.
I Hope this helps...

Hi everybody i'm having a few problems with my 8125 i was hoping maybe someone here could help me with. I can set my incoming ringtones just fine but i can't seem to add any to the sounds and notification section. I want to add wav or any sound file that would be able to be used as my text message and alarm tone. I've tried putting wav ringtones into Windows/Rings folder and even made them 5 seconds long and that still didn't work. Can anybody please help me with this? Thanks ahead of time....
