Latest News A/b WM5 Themes

Attention Ladiz and Gents-Boyz and Girlz: ALL WM2oo3 Themes will work for Windows Mobile 2oo5 for Pocket PC however it does require that you have Spb Pocket Plus installed on the PDA. It doesnt matter what 2oo3 theme you have, as long as you have Spb Pocket Plus they will all work!!!

That's not exactly right. WM2003 Themes will work on WM5 even if Pocket Plus is not installed on the device.

Quote:
Q. What are the differences between WM2003SE Themes and PPC2002/WM2003 Themes?
A. These are the few differences:
  1. WM2003SE Themes include QVGA landscape support.
  2. WM2003SE VGA Themes which include VGA Potrait and VGA landscape support.
  3. When using PPC2002 Themes on a WM2003SE device (or some WM2003 devices also), start menu font color is white.
  4. When using PPC2002 Themes on a WM2003SE device (or some WM2003 devices also), "tap & hold dots" is blue.
  5. Background color for Notes/Tasks and other native apps are customisable in WM2003 Themes
  6. WM2003SE Themes have the option to use only one image file for both start menu background and today background. This can reduce the filesize of the theme.
Q. What are the differences between WM2003/WM2003SE themes and WM5 themes?
A. In Windows Mobile 5.0, the color of the bottom soft keys and the top taskbar are configured automatically if not set explicitly. The gradient for the taskbar and softkeys can also be removed and set to a flat color. To find out more about the issue with themes on WM5, you can refer to this thread.
Taken from the massive FAQ thread I created here.

I've also discussed a great deal about WM5 themes over at my own blog.

I have over 50 themes and actually all of them came from 2003SE. Some of them does work with WM5 and some of them doesnt. However with having Spb Pocket all, ALL and I do mean ALL 50+ guarantee work without editing as if they are on 2003SE with WM5 features.

I would suspect that those that do not work on WM5 when Pocket Plus is not installed are those Extended Themes. Extended Themes are known not to work so well on WM5. Due to that reason, I've stopped creating Extended Themes.
