WisBar Advance 2.5.0.1 Released

Our beloved WisBar has been updated with a slew of new features and bug fixes. If you are new to WisBar, it is an application from Lakeridge Software that replaces your default taskbar opening up a window of new experiences. You can find all the latest features in the revision history after the jump!

Revision History for WisBar AdvanceVersion 2.5.0.1<ul type="square">Enhancements
[*]Added support for Windows Mobile 5 devices.[*]The start menu button will remain in the pressed state until the start menu has closed.[*]Added a shortcut to the notification bubble (named "Notification") for mapping to a hardware button.[*]In the [Skin Info] section of a skin, a new value has been added:
PleaseWait=<path to image>
This image will be displayed when a theme is being applied to the device.
[*]Added the ability to skin individual notification icons.[*]Created a notification callback system for applications/plugins that want to receive certain system events and information.[*]The unexpanded control panel now groups the control panel applets appropriately.[*]Added an option to show the actual notification icon when there is one notification pending.[*]The HP Protect Tools control panel applet is now supported on the unexpanded control panel.[*]If an application is specifically trying to hide the ok/close button, WisBar now hides the button appropriately.[*]Added a start menu link to press the close/ok button so that this action can be assigned to a hardware key.[*]Added an option to turn the screen off. This should only be used when assigned to a hardware button as you cannot tap the screen to turn it back on.[*]The close program button is now a little more aggressive in closing programs.[*]Sped up the screen rotation routines.[*]When using a hardware keyboard, the Start Menu button will now display the cascading start menu.[*]Added a vibrate button for when the device is in vibrate mode.[*]Added a "Clipboard Manager" command for taskbar buttons which gives the user a menu of Cut, Copy and Paste.[*]Added an option to automatically close the battery/memory panel after ten seconds.[*]Added the ability to browse images by thumbnail, rather than by filename.[*]Added "Close" to the task panel. Skinners: To skin the "Close" option of the taskpanel, just add an eighth image to the task panel buttons image and add "ImageCount=8" to the [Task Panel] section of the skin file.[*]Added an option to play a sound every xx seconds while the notification icon is visible on the taskbar (the sound file is controlled by the theme and the reminder interval is under the "Delays/Times" page).[*]Added a taskbar option to switch between the running tasks.[*]Added a shortcut to switch between the running tasks. This is most useful when assigned to a hardware button.[*]Added an option to turn the vibrate option on the volume dialog on or off for non-phone devices.[*]Added an option to hide the notification icon unless there are multiple notifications pending (this is primarily useful for phone devices).[*]The settings application now supports landscape and square screens.[*]The close button will now close Weather Panel's Weather Details window.[*]The battery meter will no longer drop to 0 when the battery state is unknown. It will remain in the last known state until the actual battery power can be determined.[*]Changed the order in which the On, Off and Vibrate radio buttons are displayed in the volume control.[*]Added ellipsis to the window title if it is truncated.

Bugs Fixed
[*]Fixed a bug where Pocket Informant 2005 would be restored if it was minimized and the battery panel was displayed.[*]Fixed a bug where WisBar could not close PocketMusic while music is playing.[*]Modified the installer code to fix some installation problems.[*]Fixed a bug where the start menu would bring up Pocket Informant if it was minimized.[*]Fixed a bug in the control panel where it would not rotate between portrait and landscape modes correctly.[*]Fixed a scrolling issue in the cascading start menu.[*]Fixed the rendering of disabled toolbar buttons.[*]Fixed some memory leaks.[*]Rewrote the cascading start menu code.[*]Fixed a bug in the General Settings page where some of the options were displayed with the wrong text.[*]Fixed a bug where the notification bubble may not be drawn.[*]Identified several lockup areas and corrected them.[*]Fixed a bug where the volume control wasn't dismissed by tapping away from it.[*]Corrected a conflict with the Pocket Arabizer program.[*]Fixed a bug where the battery/memory bubble didn't close when tapping outside of the window.[*]Fixed a bug where the signal strength icon was not on by default.[*]Fixed the on-call detection for PocketPC Phone devices.[*]Fixed a bug where the task panel was aligned to the right side of the screen.[*]Fixed a bug where on WM2003 devices, the correct version of VGARes.dll was not being installed.[*]Fixed a bug where, on VGA devices, the task panel's images were in incorrect locations.[*]Made a correction to correctly shutdown the program without freezing when Sprite backup shuts down WisBar Advance.[*]Fixed a bug where the clock did not update immediately after switching the device back on.[*]Fixed a bug where some applications caused multiple icons to be placed in the task list.[*]Rewrote the skinning engine in order to prevent lockups on exit.[*]Fixed a bug where the volume control could be displayed partially off of the screen.[*]Fixed a bug where the program would hang the system when exiting.[*]Fixed a bug where the "Export Theme" button did not work correctly.[*]Fixed a bug that was causing the program to randomly crash[*]Redesigned the process management code in order to stabilize the program.[*]Fixed a bug where the ringtone, screen taps and hardware keypresses sounds were not being saved properly when adjusting the volume.[*]Removed the custom SIP settings page as the bug that caused the need for the settings has been fixed.[*]Fixed a bug where the notification icon would end up on top of the start menu button when it was supposed to be turned off.[*]Fixed a translation error in the Dutch translation.[*]Corrected the translation errors in the Spanish and Catalan translations.[*]Fixed a bug where the "Close Background Tasks" still closed the foreground task.[*]Fixed a bug where the volume control would lose the vibrate status.[*]Fixed a bug where the browse dialogs did not work in the French language.[/list]

manics33, I haven't had any similar problems as you but if I find a solution I will notify you... the only suggestion I have is maybe uninstall the program and reinstall it.

tearherup, to install the .cab device you have to connect it to your computer via activesync then drag and drop it to your device... it then will automatically begin installing.

good luck to both of you... and let us know if you guys need more help.

Let answer this, i hope that's ok with Tim
Pocket Plus - Today Plug-in, great tools in closing minimized applications, easy apps. laucher via today screen. One of the great tools for pocket pc.. a must have...

Wisbar Advance - more like a Window blinds, this is more like customizing the look of your pocket pc, more like a facial plug-in.

I would suggest using one of them instead both. Once you get used to one it should work fine. I use Resco and am completely addicted to it as I have got 2 line full worth of programmes on my today screen and so never need to go anywhere to open most times.

Yes! you can use both program at the same time, so make sure make room for your main memory as this application is best installed in it. Because there are some issues when these are installed in SD card.

Good luck...
