We'd like to welcome back PocketWatch software creators of ActivePrint as a sponsor to Pocket PC Addict. Pocketwatch software and our other sponsors have really helped us with our high server, domain and bandwidth costs, so please give them extra consideration when you are looking for a new piece of software. What is Activeprint and why do you need it?
You create a document while in the field using Microsoft Pocket Word. After completing the file you add it to the ActivePrint queue using the ActivePrint Mobile Client on your Pocket PC.
After returning from the field to your office you connect your Pocket PC to your desktop through Microsoft ActiveSync. This can be done through the standard sync cable, a remote LAN or Wireless LAN connections, or a Bluetooth connection.
The ActivePrint Server on your desktop automatically checks your Pocket PC for files that have been queued by you in the ActivePrint Mobile Client.
When it finds files that have been queued to print it uses the printing abilities of your desktop equivalent applications (Microsoft Word in this case) to print your documents.
And that's it! Your files will be waiting for you in your printer's tray.
