Achieve-IT! Goal Setting Software 2.0 is Live

Happy Saturday everyone! I think this announcement is a bit overdue, but better late than never. Last Friday I officially released Achieve-IT! Goal setting software version 2.0 for Pocket PC.
Candidly, what I thought would be a quiet upgrade sort of exploded to some 2500 downloads, hundreds of emails offering thanks, support inquiries, questions and success stories from version 1.0. We've very been busy ever since.
So without further ado, let me officially announce Achieve-IT! 2.0 has now been released and is available for download. Customers who purchased version 1 can upgrade for $14.95 which is half the retail price. Hey, one user notified me Wednesday that A.I. version 1.0 had helped him increase his sales 200%. What is the modest registration cost of $29.95 if you can get results like that?
Major improvements include the following:
• Motivate Me option to keep you on track and focused on your primary goal beyond today, tomorrow and next week. This option is so revolutionary - so powerful - it is like having your own personal goal coach prodding you along, gently coaxing you toward achieving your goal.
• Code optimized for smaller memory use and faster performance
• Two modes for vision entry
• WM 2003 compatible supports Portrait and Landscape views
• Goal database scalable for 200+ goals and 200+ Action steps
• Customize your Achieve-IT! experience with your own screen and font colors
• Goal completion and count screen
• Sound option has been stabilized and improved
• Improved interface appearance
• Added 5 more categories
• Expanded framework allows for easy feature additions and enhancements
Any comments?

Bugs

I've already found a few bugs:
* Under order, changing order in certain categories causes the order to change, but brings you back to the "All categories" list.
* Not quite a bug, but I haven't figured out how to rename a goal.

Where's the Palm version?

Any plans to help us folks who still use Palms, too?

Hi Krypticide.
Thank you for the feedback. I'll work with the order module and see what the problem is. Could I mention that if you do hit the notepad icon it will take you back to your entire goal list. That is a "legacy" button from A.I. 1.x and we kept it in 2.0 for convenience. Are you hitting that button when it happens?
Also, you can rename a goal under the Refine module "reword goal" function.

Hi gdigesu and welcome to our forums
It is designed to automatically sense which mode you are in. So if you rotate your screen while A.I. is running, it will adjust accordingly. You can also set your screen to landscape before you launch it and it will go into landscape when run.

Just wanted to jump in and say that I've been using the software for about a week now with no major problems or crashes. I did have a registration problem related to migrating my old database but Brad responded quickly and got me up running in less than a day.

GoalSetter

As I consider the things in my life that I want to achieve, I see that the only barrier to ANY of them is me. Whether the goal is work related or with my personal relationships, overcoming my own personal "demons" seems the key to succeeding. For example, in work, getting promoted to the next level will be achieved if I better use my time and focus on the right daily activities. As a pension salesperson, time management is the key to success. Likewise, achieving a better relationship with my kids (and I have a pretty good one now) can, again, be achieved by time management. With four of them, setting "quality" time for each of them is something that I need to work on.
I would also like to spend more time saying the rosary and investing on my spiritual self. Again, time is the key.
As I say all of this, there seems like there isn't enough hours in the day to achieve everything I'd like/need to. This tool will, hopefully, help me with that or, at least, serve as a constant reminder of time management.

Achieve it not wm5 compatible??

Brad,

I need some help with Achieve It!

A couple of months ago I bought Achieve It 2.3. Back then it was confirmed that it would run under wm5, which was important for me to buy it (or not if it wasn't).

Now that I have switched over to wm5, it doesn't seem to run. Can you help me?

Thanks,

JoePie

Joe,

What happens when you run it? Do you get an error message or?

Also, what type of device do you have?

It runs on about all of the WM5 devices except for smartphones.

Achieve IT! error message

Brad,

The PPC is a hx2750 that runs on WM5; plenty memory to run any program.
The Error Message is:

Achieve-IT!.exe
TypeLoadException
Could not load type
OpenNETCF.Windows.Forms.ListBoxEx
from assembly
OpenNETCF.Windows.Forms,
Version=1.2.3346.0, Culture-neutral,
PublicKeyToken= [Hex value]

I will try to reinstall tonight, but wanted to leave this message so you can get a headstart in solving it. Maybe it is a familiar message to you.

Thanks,

JoePie

unfortunately, the bug persists

Brad,

I think the bug happened because I used the goals file from wm2003. When I started with a new goals file, the bug disappeared. It wasn't a big loss, as I only registered one achieved goal.

I'll just go on using it for new goals.

Hi Brad,

Great job with the A.I goal setter, I recently found a really annony bug and hope that you can fix it soon.

Platform: O2 XDA mini, Windows Mobile 2003 SEcond Edition (V 4.21.1088 Build 15045.2.6.0)

How to Reproduce: Creat to goals, Open goal 1 in define and define 2 steps. Delete the second (lower step). The problemtic symptoms are now:

1, Can not delete the second step.
2, If you go my goal list in Vision and open goal, you will notice that there is a step of "999" which you can not delete.

fliao,

I believe I've reproduced this problem here so I am working on a fix. Does the 999 step appear anywhere else?

Thanks for using Achieve-IT! software
