Hi,
New to this forum. Hoping someone can help.
I have an Ipaq 3955. I've just upgraded the ROM from 1.10 to 1.11. In doing so, it wiped out all of the identity in the Asset Viewer file. The Asset Tag # and Serial # is blank.
I've just bought the Navman 3450 GPS system. But I can't activate the software without the Serial # from this program. This new toy is completely useless to me unless I can somehow program the Asset tag # and Serial # back in.
I looked through the forum and saw that there was this same issue with the 4100 Ipaq. Some people got it resolve but it was mostly through warranty.
Talking with HP help, it wasn't very helpful. They won't take any responsibility for this mess. I have to send it in for repair and would cost around $100.
Does anyone know how I can program this info back in? Is there any other option?
I really appreciate any help.
I haven't been throught this frustration for a few years so I don't have any specifics, but...
What I did to resolve my dead iPAQ was to simply keep trying over and over. hard reset. reload ROM, reload rom -- SOFT reset. The fact that you can load a rom at all is probably good. Since it's dead anyway, you might as well, go for it..try anything and everything you can think of.
I've never changed anything on my IPAQ and am unable to view any of my email attachments. Can anyone tell me what to do to view my email attachments? Thank you
What error message are you recieving when trying to read your e-mail attachments? Sometimes the problem might be that you don't have the right view installed. Give us more details on your problem.
For some reason it is working! Can't tell you why. I am getting a message on one of them " IPAQ Image Viewer could not allocate enough memory to complete the requested operation." The picture is 393 kb.
I clicked on the box to have my email attachment put on my memory card which has 59 mb left on it. On my card it has a file called "Inbox.mst 29..." >Mail Attachments> Then all these files that are numbers and letters. Here's one: 5001860-3001852 The error message on this one is "There is no application associated with (then the file number) . Run the application first, then open this file within the application." When I open the IPAQ image viewer and go to the card, the files in the mail attachments do not appear. I'm guessing it's because the are the wrong file type. Can you help me on this? Thanks
That's a great description of whats happening oitssally! The first error message that you are receiving is not actually talking about the storage space for the image but the Program memory to run iPAQ Image Viewer. Unfortunately you can't tap on the attachment within the folder directly because it needs the Messaging program to run. I'd recommend downloading and installing a third-party image viewer like Resco Photo Viewer to see if that helps me. Let us know how it goes and if you have any other questions!
