Anyone know of some good application writing software?

Hello,
I need to know if anyone out there can tell me of a program that will enable me to write an application for the PocketPC platform that is more intuitive than just Visual Basic. For example, I don't know how to write HTML but I can make a great webpage using FrontPage. Is there a "FrontPage" for writing Pocket PC applications?
I've got a wonderful software idea I just can't get it created. All the pro's want several thousand to write the code, etc.
Thanks
Will Wingfield

Hi Will, and welcome to Pocket PC Addict.
There are several such apps that might help you. But it's important to know what general task in the program you want to accomplish. For example if it's going to be mainly database driven, you might go for Visual CE by Syware (affiliate) You can get an idea of how some others are distributing thier Visual CE apps by looking at this link. You can build one of these in an afternoon..
If you were in for game programming, there is a game builder - Games-App I think it's called. Yet I can't find a link for it now.
If you want to tell what the general focus of the app is: i.e. database, game, calculator, etc. I might be able to point you in a better direction.

WOw! Thanks for the quick response. I was hoping someone would have an idea other than, "go buy a VB book". The program I want to create is primarily a calculator type program. In fact, I have a working prototype using Excel. Suggestions?
Thanks again
Will

In that case, you might want to go ahead and download the trial for the Visual CE. It really is easy to learn. I tried it out early on and found that I could have a pretty functional app written in an afternoon.
Another easy one to use is Hand-D-Base. You can probably have your app written in an hour. Only problem is for end users to run it, they need to be running HanDBase on their devices, unless you buy their runtime builder. Actually, that's not too bad an idea. You could build it with HanDBase, and release it as an add-on for existing users and if it's successful release it using the runtime builder. Just a thought...
