One of the first programs many developers (me included) writes when learning a new coding language is a gratuity calculator. It is a simple program to write that "sanity checks" your code quickly and efficiently. Tipping is a new program that looks to be much more than that. The author Gainweb describes it as being designed to calculate tips in other countries to prevent the "tipper" possible shame, or embarassment of "breaking local taboos."
