I have an iPAQ 5555 and all of a sudden my inbox won't sync when connected. I'm not sure what the deal is. I had a few email accounts setup to be retrieved over an internet connection, but not thru ActiveSync. I deleted them after this started happening. I've never had this problem before. I've restarted both the computer and my PPC. I've also removed "Inbox" from the sync options and connected my PPC, disconnected it, added it back to the sync options and reconnected it. It still keeps saying "Attention Required." Help.
Thanks,
Valerie
Hi Valerie, long time no see!
Here's where I'd start. I would create a personal folder file in my outlook and copy my entire inbox emails to a personal folder called "inbox temp" or what ever name you like. Copy all of your inbox emails to the new location (i.e. back up your emails). After that, I would confirm that all of the emails were in the new location. Then I'd delete them all from my real inbox.
Once the inbox is empty, try syncing again. If it syncs, you can move the emails back into your inbox. I've found that sometimes it's just one email that hangs up the whole process.
Hey, thanks for the reply. I just can't seem to get enough of PPC Addict. I guess I'm a true addict.
Anyway, there were no emails in the inbox, at least not the one for "ActiveSync" account. The other accounts that I retrieved mail for over a Wi-Fi connection I deleted, along with all the emails. There were never any emails in that inbox, or any of the folders in the account for that matter. Wierd! Thanks for you help.

Is it me or is IPAQ owner have been haviing Activesync issues lately?...
Are you using default email app? I use WebIS email client (which I got free thanks to the tip from Brad) and it doesnt seem to sync the pop accounts (not sure if it even supposed to though).
Actually, I usually don't have too many problems with mine. However, come to think of it, I just installed "Flash Dash" which is a great program! But it seems as if it started acting up a little after I installed it. Fortunately, I backed up my PPC before I installed it. I think I'll restore it back to that point and see if there are any problems that way. If not I'll try to reinstall the program. If it ends up being the program I may or may not decide to keep using it. It just depends on how much I'll use the "Inbox" feature to begin with. I may just choose not to sync the inbox. Thanks for the suggestions.

I wrote this up earlier, but I had to run before posting...
Valerie,
In that case, the only idea I have for you is to delete your sync profile and then reestablish it. The key to this is the leading and reestablishing the profile on the computer you will use to sync e-mail. Since you can only sync e-mail with one computer, you must establish the profile with a computer first. To delete the profile, undock your iPAQ, open ActiveSync on your desktop computer, then go to file> delete partnership.
When creating your new partnership for this computer, it will ask if you want to sync with this computer or if you want to sync with two computers. Make sure you choose this computer only. That will let you sync your inbox again.
Hope this helps,
Hey, I got the message before I restored to an earlier point. I did what you said Brad and it worked! I've actually done that before on my own when I had syncing problems. I'm don't know why I didn't think to do that. I guess that's why it's always get someone else's perspective. Thanks again!
Valerie
P.S. This is the greatest site!
