Have you ever been in a situation where you needed to get to a website for some information, but either there was no connection available, or the site was down? Well, MaximumSoft Corp. says they have a solution for you. A new app called WebCopier for Pocket PC (Affiliate) allows you to connect to a site and download a website to your Pocket PC for offline viewing. "Feel the Internet right into your hands. Download Web sites and view them offline on your Pocket PC. It gives you instant access to critical Web sites at any time, regardless of where you are, even when you are not connected to the Internet. The product includes two programs -- Windows and Pocket PC versions. Windows version is a popular offline browser that can download web sites, browse them on your desktop computer, and copy the sites to your Pocket PC. Pocket PC version is a viewer that allows you to browse the sites previously downloaded and copied to the device by the desktop version. "
I remember using a similar program about 8 years ago called Web Whacker. It was pretty cool back in the modem days because it could leech a site overnight while I slept and the next day I'd have lightning fast viewing . I suppose this would be a good tool to use on some smaller sites for some quick news or info for the bus ride.
Leeching is disabled on PPCA, so if you are going to try it, avoid trying to download Pocket PC Addict, it will probably result in some less than desirable results.
