ARM, MIPS, etc.

Can anyone tell me exactly what the acronyms MIPS, ARM (etc.) refer to. They appear to be some kind of software types (I think). How do I know how these types may apply to my PDA (iPaq 3635, Pocket PC)???
Thanks

Hi,
MIPS is a processor type specifically used in older Casio Pocket PCs
SH3 is a processor used in the old HP Jornadas
ARM, is what you have it's a processor that is now pretty much the standard as far as Pocket PCs go. MIPS and SH3 were phased out about 2 years ago.
Hope this helps

My MIPS-based Casio still works.
But I don't use it for obvious reasons now.
I'll keep it for nostalgic purposes. 8-)
