problem_description : Can not connect to my Nokia 6820. I've contacket nokia already and was told to contact you.
(e-mail from me to nokia)
'This is a two part question.
First, is there any way to connect via bluetooth this phone to my Pocket PC to use the phone as a keyboard for the PPC?
Second, whenever I try to connect via bluetooth I make sure the bluetooth is turned on then I open up the bluetooth manager on my PPC. I was able to get about 8 connections about the phone to come up but when ever I try to connect to any of them it askes for a passkey, so I make one up.. like 5555 then hit ok then a box opens on the phone asking to pair and I say yes then enter the same passkey. then on the phone it pops up and says "pairing and con regected for security reasons."
I can't connect? wha'ts wrong?'
(e-mail from nokia)
You will not be able to use your Nokia 6820 phone as a keyboard for your Pocket PC device.
If you are having problems pairing via Bluetooth with a PDA device and your Nokia
6820 phone and you continually get an error similar to ?Cannot pair devices for
security reasons?, we recommend you review the following:
This is a Hardware issue and not a software issue related to the PDA product. The reason for this problem is as follows:
There are two types of keys that can be used for pairing:
- Combination keys
- Unit keys
The key type that is used is pre-set in most PDA devices. The Nokia 6820 phone rejects the use of unit keys in pairing because it is not as secure as combination keys.
Please contact the manufacturer of your PDA device to see if they have a resolution for this issue.
WhenI e-mailed HP they said they will not help me without paying
