If you're anything like me, and I know that I am, then you appreciate the heck out of RepliGo every time you fire it up.
I spent the weekend rebuilding my old Casio e2000 because while I love VGA on my e800, all of my language apps and exercise software work best in QVGA... and that wm2003se still has the smell of work in progress. (click here for the latest horror story)
The older PDA will be perfect for taking to the gym or for setting up during dinner and practicing kanji. (older PDA = less worries about spots and spills) A number of my texts are in RepliGo format and I like to read while on the treadmill. ...Did that with the e800 once and all I could think about was it dropping and breaking...
So I reinstalled the whole RepliGo 2.0 program and... well, it was a little like Christmas. The reader for PPC has been updated to 2.01 and the base program which I think includes the Windows viewer has been upgraded to 2.03. I can't find a list of changes but unlike previous installs this time I didn't get a message about it not able to find MS Office on the PC.
This is one nice application and I'm trying to figure out why, with its price, feature set and interoperability, it is still the best kept secret in office and PPC use! The readers are free! If you don't have it, install it. And you can't beat the price with a stick. For $30, you can make perfectly formated copies of any document in any form and display them on almost any device... languages, graphics (although not as pretty as Adobe put passable), layouts, user comments, active links... it's all there.
A week or so ago I thought I'd take a look at Repligo but figured it was just another product that I would try and delete because it costs $30 and wasn't worth it. I downloaded it and I was shocked at how well it made Excel files look. I carry a lot of Excel spreadsheets on my Ipaq but only for reference, if changes are to be made, I always update the PC and copy it to the PPC. I bought Repligo the first day, that's how much I liked it. You can yellow highlight, display in portrait or landscape and on, and on. An excellent product.
