PocketPCReviews.com has posted a review of Pocket-DVD Studio for Pocket PC. This is a "must have" application in my book. I use it every time I travel and I want to watch a movie. The clarity of the movie on my Toshiba is outstanding! I've used DVD to Pocket PC and Pocket-DVD Studio. I haven't used DVD to Pocket PC since I purchased Pocket-DVD Studio. Watching movies on my Pocket PC has not really been practical until now. It required a lot of work such as converting the movie to fit the screen on my Pocket PC, ensuring that the file size is small enough to fit onto a storage card and making sure that the audio is in synchronization with the video. Conclusion
I was very impressed with this software. It was extremely easy to use and the results worked as expected. This software makes it possible for those with Pocket PC’s to watch movies on long trips or even watch a clip of a movie when you have nothing else to do. You can even use it to show off the capabilities of the Pocket PC. At the price of approximately USD30, this program is bit more expensive than the usual Pocket PC software, but it’s worth the investment if you plan on doing a lot of movie watching on a smaller screen. There is a trial version that lets you encode 5-10 minutes if you want to watch a movie clip on your Pocket PC.
Have you used this application? I'd like to hear your thoughts on this application or if you recommend something different.

Agree - this is a great app. I had some problems with the sound being a bit out of whack with the video, but I was able to find settings to help correct that.
All-in-all, great piece of s/w - I agree w/bkbroil - a must have.
Pocket DVD Studio is overrated... well, as overrated as the rest of the graphical front-ends to the DivX codec.
There is a lot of manual tweaking required when coverting anamorphic DVDs. And there is still plenty of sync issues with Divx. I have never been able to successfully encode a DVD to Divx in a single attempt. Whenever I attempted it, it would take 5-6 tries to get something acceptable.
I keep going back to Microsoft's free Windows Media Encoder. It works great, creates decent video quality with extremely low bitrates (40MB per hour of video).

Really? I haven't tweaked it since the first time and I have ripped probably 20 movies...all in one try per movie...Interesting, have you contacted their support? They're very responsive...but if you've found something that works then stick with it.

I really wanted to get Divx encoding working. As much as I dislike it, it is a more "open" format than wmv.
The funny thing is, whenever I discuss Divx with someone, they'll start out by saying how easy it is, how well it encodes, how great the quality is... but then when I ask some probing questions, they reveal the "dark side of Divx" that they neglected to mention first time around.... "yeah, I get frequent audio sync problems"... "hmm, true, anamorphic DVDs are a bit tricky"... "oh, yeah, I guess that there is some tweaking that needs to be done individually for each movie before encoding"...
After a few minutes, they're wondering themselves why they still use Divx!
