syncing a mac and a ppc

i'm a mac user (i know, boo-hiss) who also loves the ppc. to date i've used pocketmac (www.pocketmac.net) to sync with my ppc. the old versions were okay-ish but the new pro version is dynamite. out of curiosity i took a look at the missing sync but have not used it. anyone try missing sync or another app that allows a mac and a ppc to communicate?

Here's my opinion...I am not running Mac these days, however, it's my experience that if there is a synching product you find to be "dynamite" then there isn't any sense in changing. Sure, gather opinions, etc. but really, if you love pocketmac, you will probably cause yourself some unneeded headaches by switching from what is "great" into what is unknown. The synching process is delicate at best and any changes in your sync-structure like this could destroy it to the point where you have to reinstall your Operating system. Trust me, I know.
Any other opinions though?

So far, my only problem with PocketMac is that about 50% of the .exe installers are incompatible with it (or, it's incompatible with them, if you prefer). The few CAB installers I've found, and SOME .exe installers, work fine. Since I have PC access as well, this is a nuisance, not a killer.
However, depending on what YOU mean by "Mac and PocketPC communication", there are lots of other (non-sync) options.
My iPAQ plus a Wi-Fi card works just fine with my AirPort-equipped iMac doing Intenet Sharing (what Mac OS 9 calls "Software Base Station") - it can get on the Internet, visit web sites, do email, etc. I'm using 40-bit WEP; so far haven't managed to get 128-bit WEP working, but I'm sure it's doable. I'm sure this would work equally well with a real AirPort base station, or any other decent Wi-Fi access point.
Your Mac could host its own web site that the PocketPC could see, including files, pictures, etc.
As you presumably know, you can also access the Internet from your PocketPC while docked using PocketMac, and I think MissingSync has something similar, either built-in or add-on.
I use iSync, so my iPAQ, iMac, and .Mac address books are kept in sync. I don't currently sync any calendars, but obviously could do so. At one time I also synced my iPod, but don't bother any more.
Doug
