Hello,
I get the following error in Newsbreak with the PPC Addict RSS Feed (http://www.pocketpcaddict.com/backend.php):
"The Channel data was not valid."
Any help is appreciated.
RGDS & TIA
Curtis M.
I was also about to bring this up too. I've tried 2 different links for the RSS Feed. The main one seems to have some errors while the other one is no longer active.
By the way. the AvantGo module doesn't seem updated also. Any plans to bring it back alive? I'm thinking of adding either the RSS Feed or the AvantGo page to my list of offline pages to sync to my Pocket PC. Hope to see either one of them back up
I've been having RSS problems pretty much since the relaunch as well. In Sage, I simply get an XML parse error. I tried Pluck as well and the RSS feed there comes up but has never updated (still shows September news).
I hope you guys have a chance to fix it!
Yes, it has been fixed - I just have an updated the RSS links on the front page. We now have two RSS feeds!
The list of our most current news can be had via this link: http://www.pocketpcaddict.com/rssfna.php
And now we have a glove forum post RSS feed: http://www.pocketpcaddict.com/module...orums&file=rss
So people can get in there and post and be made famous via our RSS feed!
Hey everyone!
I just wanted to announce that both the News and Forum feeds have been updated! Here are the updated links below!
News: http://feeds.feedburner.com/pocketpcaddict
Forums: http://feeds.feedburner.com/pocketpcaddictforums
The old RSS links will still work, but the new ones add gives more compatibility to various RSS readers as well as adds other features.
Please let us know if you have any more suggestions.
Thanks!

Nice, and I have some suggestions:
1) Is it possible to put the contents of the news articles, rather than just the headlines?
2) As for the Mobile Site, it doesn't seem to reflect the news that are posted on the main site. Is it possible to update that as well?
I'm currently still using the "old" RSS feed link (Forums) for my offline synchronisation and am hoping for a neater way to sync only the news articles.
Actually, I like the mobile edition of the news page cos that is well-formatted. Furthermore, I'm using a RSS parser to subscribe to the RSS feeds and sync them to my Pocket PC in Sunnysoft World-Offline. I'm hoping to use a mobile-friendly page rather than RSS feed for synchronisation.
vicott, at PocketPCAddict, we hope that you find with web suggestions, your wish, is our command.
We have updated the RSS News feed (with the same new link) so that it includes the first 200 characters of the article along with the headline itself. We hope that this will make RSS reading a bit more efficient for everyone.
We are also currently working on the mobile version of PocketPCAddict to reflect news that is posted on the main page.
We'll announce when this is complete so you can load it up on your Pocket PC, thanks again for your suggestions!
Keep 'em coming!

Hi again, thanks for taking in the suggestions. But there seems to be a problem with the RSS feed now. It seems to have failed validation and there are parsing errors. Perhaps you can try having code something like this:

all the html text

By making use of "CDATA", you do not need to worry about converting "<" to "<" and ">" to ">" etc You can use this RSS feed as an example of how it is used.
How odd... I ran it through http://www.w3.org/RDF/Validator/ just to make sure, but I have reedited the feed with the changes you recommended. Can you check to see if you still receive errors?
Thanks again for checking it out!

The FeedBurner version is working fine
Perhaps I have confused with the original RSS feed, which isn't as updated and failed validation.
Not a problem and I'll use the "new" feed link then.

For the Mobile version, is it possible to parse the images/links or at least remove them totally rather than leaving them as BB codes? Once again, thanks for the hard work.
vicott, thanks for the message. I'm Tim, you may have seen a few of my news articles up here, but I want to let you know that I'm also going to be taking care of the site and helping mantakey as well.
To answer your question about bbcode appearing on the mobile site, I'll one up you on that. We are now asking our contributing writers to post news in HTML format so that you get the full effect on the mobile site, pictures and all.
It may take a bit of time for new news to show up in HTML, but we're working on it.
Check out some new news now!
Thanks for your patience!
-Tim
P.S. If you don't like having images load when on mobile, let us know, we are gauging our readers reaction to having images on their Pocket PCs.
Oops, it's me again. For the mobile edition, is it possible to remove the link back to the full edition? That can be a real killer for AvantGo/World-Offline/Mobile Favorites users. Other than that small issue, it really looks great.
