I've seen plenty of comments in the forums about users who are reluctant to try Wi-Fi or who aren't sure where to begin with mobile web surfing. As such, MyPDACafe has penned a good article for beginners and seasoned "surfers" alike. Mobile Web Surfing and More! explains Is it possible to comfortably browse the Internet, check emails, receive RSS feeds and browse newsgroups from your Pocket PC. The author, boysbytes, has compiled a list of freeware he uses to accomplish this task. "Why use a Pocket PC?
It doesn't take a lot of work to start browsing the Internet with the Pocket PC. The current crop of Windows Mobile 2003 Pocket PCs have enough processing power to render webpages quickly, and enough storage space for downloading files. It's easy to carry around and you can expect 3 to 4 hours of browsing at a Hotspot.
The only drawback is the 240x320 resolution on the Pocket PC. Since most web pages are designed for desktop screen resolutions, you'll have to do considerable horizontal scrolling on the Pocket PC. It's not ideal. However, this limitation will be addressed by new PDAs loaded with Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition that feature 480x640 resolution, an updated PIE and support for landscape display."
