If you are interested in starting Pocket PC development, turning your Pocket PC into a Flashlight is a good place to start. It's simple. Just a few lines and your Pocket PC can guide your way through the deep darkness. Introduction "This is one of the simplest applications ever created. It just sets the entire screen to white and you can use it as a flashlight. This application was inspired by my brother's boss. His boss had at one time had a program that turned the screen completely white so that it could be used as a flashlight. I decided that this would be a good starting point for some PocketPC apps."
I have used my PPC many times during power outages to light my way around the house. Usually to try and find a real flashlight. BatteryPack has a flashlight utility built into it and it works too.
This sounds frivolous but it can help you out in a pinch.

True. I use my PPC every night as a flashlight because I'm the last to bed and have to creep through the dark halls of the Isaac mansion ( ) without waking anyone. But I NEVER launch any flashlight app. I just turn on the backlight and go.
I mainly posted this because it makes for a good "Hello World" app for a beginning programmer.
