I just bought an iPaq 1945 and I have a bluetooth adapter (Actiontec). I'm trying to get Activesync to work through my bluetooth connection in addition to streaming online radio and the like.
Any clues out there?
Thank you.
Well, I know that after I install the Bluetooth software in XP, I can establish a link (serial port) from the iPaq to the desktop.
I've even had the ability to access the internet through the connection.
I run into problems when it comes to activesync. I can't get it to sync and continue syncing just like it were connected via USB.
Ok, so it DOES sync, just doesn't continue syncing?
If that's the case, open activesync on your PPC and choose Tools>Options> press the OPTIONS button and make sure the "When syncing remotely" option is set to "Maintain connection"
That should do it.
Okay, here's the rundown.
I have an iPaq 1945 with bluetooth. I have a Win XP box with an Actiontec bluetooth usb adapter.
I can get a solid serial connection between the two, but I cannot ActiveSync, Surf the web through the PCs LAN connection. I am about Bluetooth frustrated.
Here's what I've had to do to fix that issue. I open Activesync on the desktop. Go to File>Connection Settings and Uncheck USB. Then I checkmark allow serial connection. Your bluetooth dongle software should have enabled some other connection ports. My Activesync for bluetooth usually defaults to 4 so use the dropdown to select Com 4.
Rebooting and soft resetting sometimes helps when goofing with these settings.
I love it.
I've been around the web looking for some solid advice on getting this done and B-Rad is the first to help.
