Snapstream has always had a special place in my heart. It was one of the first pieces of software I reviewed for Pocket PC Addict. And it was my most used app for nearly a year - it provided me TV entertainment from my Pocket PC during lunches.
Today I found a new review for Snapstream's Beyond TV PVR system. Yes Snapstream will still automatically sync the shows you've recorded to your PPC/storage card so you can view them on the go. Hey, according to the review, it appears to be much easier to use than it used to be * The Good: SnapStream's Beyond TV is a great all-in-one TV tuner and PVR package.
* The Bad: Not many weaknesses in this product.
* The Verdict: A great PVR solution for PC users, and with Canadian program listings to boot. REVIEW:
From a standing start just a few years ago, the concept of a "personal video recorder" or PVR has become almost commonplace, from the popular Tivo box available in the U.S. to the PVR functions that come built in to some set-top boxes sold by cable and satellite TV companies and Widows Media Centre Edition PCs. SnapStream's Beyond TV 3 is a worthy addition to this phenomenon, since it turns virtually any computer into a PVR for the bargain price of $100 (U.S.).
