Wireless begets wireless

Is it a wireless discussion day or what? Continuing the trend today there is another article we dug up about the various wireless gadgets out there. No Cords, No Hassles is about various home automation toys, to wireless PS 2 controllers and Wi-Fi speakers you can use with your Pocket PC.

"Wireless begets wireless. Once you cut the cord on a couple of devices, you want to cut them all. Aren't you glad your TV set no longer has a wired remote? Wouldn't life be simpler if your surround-sound speakers didn't require you to snake a pair of cords back to the AV receiver? Here are half a dozen wireless technologies you'll want to take advantage of."

What would you automate if you could do it?

Easy

Oh that's soooo easy.....The first thing would be my XM Skyfi unit! I would make it so I could keep the unit in front of me (or in my pocket) instead of over hooked up to the stereo. Yeah they have a remote but I still have to walk over to it to see the names of the songs and artists.

How about this one.

Ahhhh.....my favorite toy and it's not even a gadget....is something that I recieved for free!
This was my mother-in-laws car that was bought back in 1968 and was only used a couple of times. She decided the car was "too much" for and the car sat for years. My father-in-law knew I was a car fanatic and asked me if I wanted it. I said "Yes, how much?" His reply was "Nothing, the only stipulation is that you can never sell it....because it is the only thing left of from my late wife that still may have some value."
WooHoo! (BTW...I only drive it on the weekends in spring and fall...no AC and the heater isn't exactly something to write home about.)

Hey, that is a great car! And a gift from your IN-LAWS?
Gotta be happy all around on that arrangement.

My father in law, who was later killed in an home invasion robery gave us a 65 mustang but we sold it to buy our first home. It was such a cool car.

I am grateful..

I am happy...but don't read too much into the gift thing.....When I picked it up....it hadn't run in almost 10 years and the body was rusting out.....It took alot of elbow grease and $$ just to get it running.......plus my father-in-law didn't want to pay the insurance just to keep it parked in front of his house... So I am grateful, but I also know what he saw was "an old hunk of junk" and what I saw was "the first year firebird (67) that just needed some work" besides, it took me almost 3 years before I even took my first ride in it...
BTW....I think the next thing I'm doing to it is.....putting in a nice stereo and an XM radio (it still has the original AM radio installed)

No WAY! That's horrible. Did they ever catch the criminal?

Now see....I totally agree with that trade! A car for a place to live, I like it.

OK I admit I know nothing about nothing when it comes to cars (and sport!)
but wasn't that the kinda car that featured in the game 'Driver'. I admit it looks way cool, but how does it handle? I mean no power steering or electronic wheel grip suspension stuff (techie lingo )
My sister in law has mark I Ford Anglia (I think? I should really post a picture). which is in mint condition, but drives like a bucket on pram wheels .
KNelson - really sorry to hear about your loss. That's just brutal!
I don't want to appear macabre but what’s a 'home invasion robbery' :? was it carried out by some terrorist/armed group or was it what be ‘Brits’ call an aggravated burglary? E.g.
Some twat breaks in to your home, you see/catch ‘em. They pull out a knife and stab you 47 times.
We had a case over hear where a fella named Tony Martin who after being burgled three for four times I one year (or something like that) finally caught two burglar’s red handed in his farm house. So he shot one of them (killed him) and wounded the other. The one that survived sued him for damages and aggravated assault, which was on top of Tony getting some thing like 3 years in prison for man slaughter.
It’s a strange world be live in eh!
OO! Sorry if I harked on about that for too long

I'm suprised you didn't recognize it

I'm suprised you didn't recognize it...my car was the same car used in "The Matrix: Revolutions" when they are on the highway an Niobi pulls up in a 67 Firebird. (Jada Pinkett)...except hers was black.

Rougher than Russell Crowes chin. It's a heavy car without powerbrakes... It's pretty fast but cars have come a LONG way since the 60's...I only use this car on the weekends when the weather is perfect...Like today! What am I doing inside!
