I have been successful to tether my Verizon XV6700 via USB cable. However, no such luck with DUN using my Kensington Bluetooth. Not sure where the problem lies. USB works rather well. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I have the same equipment as above. Instructions are flawless for an XP machine I'm using for thethering. Issue is with a new laptop I'm running Vista 64 and I'm getting an error when I direct the new hardware wizard to the .inf file. Asking me for Generic Serial (PROTOTYPE - remember to change iVendor) driver.
I attempted to open up the dialer anyway and USB is greyed out as a connection option.
The solution is for MAC users, If you use windows XP or Vista you can still get a help here...
I am doing this on XV6700 on MacBook Pro via bluetooth.
First step to do is to turn on DUN via phone program. Tap ##3328873 send,
then 000000 will enable DUN and vmodem
Second Step is that you will have to do a hard reset, this will wipe out every program on the phone so take a backup before. You can use wireless sync to take the backup of your device. This only backs up calendar, contacts. all programs will be gone. A hard reset is done in the settings once you do that.
Third Step is to do a bluetooth recognition with the mac. Connect and set up bluetooth, dial up with #777 on a
sprint PCS vision modem setting. This works on an off with mac so dont worry and keep doing.
