8125 Outlook POP3 Problems

Hello all,

I got an 8125 not too long ago and I've been trying to set up Outlook with it. I have it so I can hook it all up and sync email with ActiveSync, however I'm looking for a way that I can receive the mail on my phone. I know I can set up a POP3 account on the phone, but all the email I get downloads into a POP3 folder, and not the Outlook one that syncs with ActiveSync. Any ideas on what to do?

Thanks!

If you would like your emails to sync with ActiveSync, then you would need an Exchange Server. There are free options like those from Mail2Web and then there are the commercial ones.

Mail Servers

well first what you need to know the mail server your trying to connect on your phone. Next within outlook click menu---tools---new account and follow the steps.

So the only thing stopping you is the incoming and outgoing mail server once you find out you will be all set.

Comcast.net
(pop3)
incoming: mail.comcast.net
outgoing: Smtp.comcast.net

aol.com
(imap)
incoming: imap.aol.com
outgoing: smtp.aol.com

yahoo.com
(pop3)
incoming: pop.mail.yahoo.com 995 (port)
outgoing: smtp.mail.yahoo.com 465 (port)

Google GMail
(pop3)
incoming: pop.gmail.com
outgoing: smtp.gmail.com

Lycos Mail
(pop3)
Incoming Mail Server pop.mail.lycos.com (port 110)
Outgoing Mail Server smtp.mail.lycos.com
