Speaker issues on MDA Compact

Hi, sup?

I have an MDA Compact in kinda of a bad condition...
and for the past few months the speaker wouldn't work... and i have no idea why.

And i noticed that in the menu that appears when i try to decrease/increase the volume (through the side button) that the icon with the PDA device and noise coming out of it is set to full, but the icon of the Phone wouldn't increase, if i increase it and press the Joystick (the center 'Enter' Button) and recheck it turns back down to 0.

Does this have anything to do with my speaker-not-working problem, or is this just another problem that i should add to the list?

Thanks in advance;P.
