i need alot of help. i had this phone for a while but i never got really into it until now. i don't really know nothin at all about this phone. i read alot of these post and im like what the hell lol cuz i don't know what some of this stuff means. but i basically want to add a theme and skin to my phone. i have the 8125 by the way

you need to downlaod a theme themes work in a .tsk file. save it to the my documents folder on the device, not the storage card. You can either tap the file or go to
start-settings-and tap on the today icon select the theme then hit ok.
I am working on a pocket pc starter pack that will include various softwares, themes and skins for the actual phone pad. Once I actually figure out how to upload it onto the internet. I might put it on freewarepocketpc.net.
It will be in a Zip file. I will put a link up.

i have the 8125 and am relatively new to it but i have some advice i can give u if u need. i recommend batterystatus immediately.

1. My first favorite is cLaunch. I does one basic thing, put icons on the today screen. It is tabbed, but it is the best freeware today launcher.

It is a relatively simple program to use.
to access the options tap Start>Settings>Today>Items Tab>Tap cLaunch in the list>Tap options

I am looking for a good task manager, any ideas?

you have to download a .tsk file and save it to ur device not the storage card. Tap Start, Settings,and click on the today icon. There will be a list of themes that are on your device find the one you downloaded and select it.

What if it's a .cab file? Like the one that changes your phone to look different?

then you just download the cab file, find where you downloaded it and click on it the phone will take care of the rest. NO ACTIVE SYNC FOR MOST CAB FILES!!!

beware when downloading new phone dialer skins, they are known to be difficult if not impossible to uninstall. If you do uninstall it it might mess up the dialers.

I also have the cingular 8125. I have had this phone for 2 yrs now, but I am just begging to rip it with the help of you guys. I have the battery thing, the clauncher and a clock. I also still have wm5, but i am so nervous to flash it. You know I have found so much software and help on here. The only thing I have not found was a setp by step process, in dummies terms to install or flash. I also seen the Ipod skin but I am scared once it changes the phone how will i chancge it back . Im just rambling I know. I am currently looking for a safe way to flash to wm6 and im looking for a phone dialer skin. Lata

be careful when installing a phone dialer, if you uninstall it it would jack up the normal dialer. Be sure that it is the one u want, and that you do not want to uninstall it. I have no idea how to flash, I am extremely nervous to flash mine to, I've heard that wm6 is slower. Go to xda-developers.com to other posts. But like I said you need to be careful.

yeah im hesitating on getting wm6. i just got the phone last week, and i got a nice dialer. love it, intend on keeping it. i want the home plugin but i think i need wm6 for it to work. i might do the iphone skin instead.

Look at my earlier post, i have a program that i have available for download. It is called cLaunch. It allows you to change icons, you can download iPhone icons for it and make your today screen look like the iphone. Apple has made it damn near impossible to find a program that changes the today screen to look exactly like the iphone.

i am relatively new as well, im a running WM5 too, but yes, u can install the HTC HOME app. BTW it is really awesome its the best thing ive evr done to my phone just download the HOME v1.5 version from the download section, unzip it, then just stick the .cab file on ur phone and open it directly on the phone, itll do the rest itself and ur all set, if u need help lemme know cuz i just did it like a week ago
its cool cuz its got this quick link section to 8 people right on the today screen for quick texting or calling and its got the same thing with Apps for quick launching them, very handy!

also why when i use tcpmp, afterwards my soft keys will stop functioning???? thats not cool at all, i dont think this used to happen before but anyways...

Hermes is the HTC name of the 8525 just like Wizard is the HTC name for the 8125

Here are some .tsk files you have to unzip them and put them on your device not your storage card then just run them.

If anyone has any questions about wm6 you should post them in the apropriote threads eg. wm6 for 8525 or wm6 with touchflo on 8125.

Please feel free to help me with this it is a big project, I have been adding files by request and when I get time please feel free to add any files you think would be good hear and feel free to create a file for beginners if you would like.
