Does anyone know how to get the Goodlink app to get the software to finish it's download of the components? I have had the phone provisioned twice on the server and have been performing the download in areas of very strong data service. I have even performed a hard reset and tried the install before doing anything else to the phone. I have just upgraded to this phone from the 6700 and love the enhancements except this hiccup is driving me crazy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Gentry
I don't think the 6800 is supported by Goodlink yet. I've got my 6800 in the box and using the 6700 until Goodlink announces 6800 support.

Gregg
I have also now found out that the TriangleSoftware apps lock up the Goodlink app once it has installed and appears to be working correctly. It will for a short period of time and then just quit sending/receiving even though it appears that it is. I have experienced this with both the PPC6800 Hacks app and the Reset Button app. I have also noticed that the PPC6800 Hacks App messes up the password functionality on the system and you end up having to do a hard reset of the system to get it functioning again.
If I wasn't so reliant on the Goodlink app for my job I wouldn't be going through this ridiculous evolution. Hope my experience helps somebody else.

Thanks Gentry, your circumvention worked! I have been using my PPC-6700 because Goodlink was not working with my 6800. After getting around the Downloading Services hang I found that ubsequent to activating Goodlink with Roaming Only turned on, I'm able to swicth to Automatic mode after Goodlink finishes initializing and continue to use it with impunity w/o the need for Roaming Only. Your tip was really helpful.
Thanks again,
Gregg
One final update on this, my company just pushd a 5.0 Goodlink client to me and everthing works great. The aforementioned circumventions in this thread, which while helpful for pre 5.0 clients are unnecessary for 5.0 in my experience.
Hi Gregg...my name's Greg also.
Just wondering how you were able to migrate your 6700 files/folders/apps --over to your 6800....
I have the 6700...and was planning to get a 6800...so I wanted to know if
its at all possible to migrate my files over to the 6800.
Any tips??
Thanks
How do you set the default browser to Opera Mini? I can't even find the Opera Mini program on the device after I downloaded it. Also initially tried the settings in Opera, but see nothing to set it as default browser. Help! I want to try this workound to make Good work on this phone, otherwise it's back to my Treo.
The way you use Opera mini is through the Java program.
You run the Java (you should be able to find it under "Programs") and select on Java. Inside of Java, select "Application" then the Opera Mini should be there.
Thanks for the response - however, I did all that already, but where is the option for making Opera Mini the default browser? Or do I have to go through all this (which I'm trying):
I DID IT! Actually the link below is a much simpler way to do it - very cool and quick. Changed phone to roam only, Goodlink was slow finishing but it worked wonderfully (for anyone else out there who needs to know):
Update: Goodlink up and running on my Mogul 6800, but it's not syncing with Outlook OTA with calendar, contacts and not getting new email messages. Any clues?
My boss wants to ditch his 1st gen Moto Q which has no issues with provisioning Good and we purchased a Mogul for him and if it went well, I was going to ditch my Sprint Q9C. What a PITA. And the sad thing is that we're running a 5.03.19 server.
Good's website is no help on this however I have an in down there - with all the problems I've had recently with my Q, I've traded lots of mail with the head of support and I'll be calling him Monday.
The Mogul is on Good Technology's Approved hardware list and should work without all this tapdancing.
OK, now having spent 3+ hours futzting with this thing, it's about to go out a window....
Like Gyd, I got the unit to install, sync and actually function while it was forced into 1XRTT Roaming Mode (which blows) and like him (although he didn't say it) I think he switched his unit back to Automatic mode and Good stopped working.
I wiped the unit (for the umpteenth time) and flashed the firmware from out-of-the-box v2.09 to Most Current from HTC v2.17, reprovisioned the on the Good Admin server, and reran the install to install the 5.0.25
Long story short, it doesn't work.
Good and HTC might want to put their heads together and get this to work.
I knew if I looked at it long enough, it was going to be something PEBKAC.
The whole hang on download services problem was server side. The end user I was moving came off a Moto Q - a Windows Mobile 5.0 SMARTPHONE. I'd blindly left him in the same user group (if you admin your Good Server, you'll know what this is) which was all of our Q's and Q 9C's and they run on Windows Mobile 5 or 6 Smartphone client, NOT PocketPC client.
Moving to this unit, it requires the PocketPC client (the latest release is 5.0.3.28 which is 3676KB) I was unintentionally forcing the Smartphone client at it (also 5.0.3.28 which is 3654KB) which is what was causing it to bomb at the end.
Created a new user group, dropped this user into the group all by himself, turned off the policy inheritance just to be safe, told it to use the PocketPC client 5.0.3.28 and wiped the phone again and reinstalled it and crossed my fingers.
With no "ROAM ONLY" workarounds, it installed the 1st time with no issue and is collecting mail from Exchange like it's supposed to. The unit is running the 2.17 Firmware.
