Technical help for noob about java games

Hi, I just bought a HTC Cingular 8125 and I know that it supports pocket pc games and j2me games. I am wondering if I can use cell phone games on my new phone? Like motorolla or sony ericcson j2me games. Like is there a certain phone that has games that work good on the 8125? These are more common types of games that I can get more easily. Thanks, Shane

Ok this is what I have come up with, first of all I love my 8125 and I dont bother with java games because I can play Nes and Snes games on my phone. Ok below is a few links that should help you out better than I can I guess one day when I get the time I will try it out myself.

Aparently all you have to do is have a VM installed on the ppc.
Sun Java Wireless Toolkit - J2ME Games Compatibility on Mobile Phones.

Here is a link for a ton of VM's if you do get it to work please post you results and what you ended up using so that everyone on the forum can use the information including myself.

not really

Not without connecting to a pc somehow. You can not just copy a game to another phone because it needs the cab or jar file, which is already gone. It is like a installer. If you can download a jar to your pc and somehow move it to your phone, then you can open the jar on your phone to install the game. That would require a data cable or a pc with a bluetooth adapter. You can buy a bluetooth adapter and use it on your pc, then bluetooth the jar to your phone. Keep in mind that if you have a tech savy friend that can do it with their phone......then you can BT it from their phone to your phone. Most phones have BT built in.

yes

yes it is. If you just want to do a few you could bluetooth them from the ppc to the cell phone too. They are compatable for file transfers. Just a thought. Make sure they are still in jar format though. Good luck, Shane
