Alright i just got the Cingular 8125, i just got rid of my Moto Q for Sprint. Whenever i got the phone i got it from a co worker and they did not send the charger with it. But i have the charger still from my Q that uses the USB. Now they look like they use the same charger but im not sure because the 8125 looks a lil different. What i am needing 2 know is does the 8125 from Cingular use the motorola chargers. The reason i am asking is because my phone went completely dead the first day i had it and i pluged it into the car charger i had for my Q (standard motorola usb charger) and the charging LED light didnt come on. so when i got home i pluged it into the wall charger and still nothing and its been on the charger for 12 hours now and still completely dead....So is there something wrong with the phone are do i have 2 have a special charger since it is a Cingular brand phone?
There is a "charging" cable used for these phones. It shorts pins 4-5 on the mini usb connector to put the phone into charging mode. Either use the ATT charger OR you can trick the phone usually by resetting it while plugged into the charger.
The best alternative is to purchase TWO hi capacity batteries and an external desktop battery charger and then just swap 'em out daily.
I bought a car charger from compUSA (needed one right away). It only charges when the screen is turned off.??? Might be one of thoses funny things. If you don't have a car charger...might be worth it.
