Hi there,
I've just installed an SDIO WiFi Card in my PPC, but when I try to browse the internet, i keep getting a page cannot be displayed error. When I check using WLAN utility, it says I'm connected and have a good signal. Does anyone have any expertise in this area? I'm so discouraged and frustrated. Please help!
Still REALLY needing help here. I tried to access web pages while placing my unit in the charging cradle and it worked just find. WHY would that happen? And HOW can I get it to browse the net while not in the cradle? That's not very practical!
A little more info would help. Is this a continuous problem regardless of access point or have you tried it only with a specific wifi router? When in the cradle, are you also connecting to an ActiveSync host PC? What protocol is the card using (802.11 b or g)?
I've tried this in four different locations, my home network and 3 free wi-fi spots in town. When I'm able to connect, it is via ActiveSync and a host PC. The protocol is 802.11 b. WLAN utility shows IP address and SSID. Signal strength is strong and quality is good. What else can I tell you that would be helpful?
Check the card connection settings to see whether the card is flagged as connecting to Work or the Internet and try changing it. Also check to see if it is set to accept a server-assigned IP address.
In connection settings/Select Networks
Both tabs are set to My Work Network. I've changed these to every variation and nothing works. So far, most of the advice on the net says to set both to My Work Network, so that's where they're at.
When the card is set to accept a server-assigned IP address, the IP address begins with 169 even though my network AP is set to 192.***.**.**
