From a desktop PC, there are options such as NetZero that gives you a few hours of monthly free access. However, since the ones I know of require use of a proprietary dialer, they are not usable under WM. If you have wifi on your device, find hotspots in your area that give free access. In my neck of the woods, all the Paneras offer this.
If you want to find available wifi, a good freeware app is WiFiFoFum, which identifies signals and can tell you which are secured and which give open access.
Okay... seriously.... Tmobile had the only free gprs internet going on the PPC and that door is shut at the moment. Everyone else expects to receive payment for the service they provide. WiFi hotspots are your only other alternative.
