I have Alltel and a Treo 700wx. I plan on adding the $29 data plan. What is the best EMAIL configuration to use to maximize battery life? By best I mean software setup and push or pull.
Also with the configuration I do NOT want any additional monthly fees. Would also prefer no advertisings in my emails.
I have no problem purchasing new software but would prefer free if possible.
I have a Treo 700wx and I use push mail. I also have a HTC apache that has pop mail on it and it waste the battery. I have to charge it every night or it will go dead. Any type of pop or imap mail will drain the battery. push doesn't because it recives email kind of like you would get sms messages.
You can use the default mail application and you can program it as to how often you want it to check for emails (every 15 mins, every 1 hour and so forth). The thing is, the more often you check, the more battery you will be using.
There will be no advertising since you are getting your mail via POP3 or IMAP platform.
