Connecting your cradle won't make a connection to a host PC anyway unless it has ActiveSync installed. Unlikely in an internet cafe setting. If it has wireless access, you could use a wifi connection and a service like Goggle docs to hold a shared document archive online.
If you have email and internet then there is no need sync. Just edit the doc on your device and send it. If further editing is required, have it sent back to you.
The document will be sent to me via email, however, how do I get the email off the internet cafe onto my pocket pc, unless there is wi-fi in which case it's all good.
Since I doubt an internet cafe is going to let you install software on their equipment (or shouldn't - it's an idiotic risk on their part), you would have a couple of options. Many will have card readers on some stations; you could use a memory card out of your device to transit documents. Or you can look for wifi hotspots; some internet cafes have timed wireless access available. This would let you access email from your device directly.
