What next

Hi,

I recently upgraded my T-Mobile MDA III Radio Rom (1.15) in the hope that it would improve the signal acquisition. It seems worse than before, where previously, by continual toggling of the Flight Mode facility it would at least and at some stage start receiving a 3-4 bar signal. Now, no matter how many times I patiently toggle the Flight Mode, it just will not receive a signal. The only way is to either leave it for an hour or more (still no signal) and try again, or initiate a soft reset. In doing the latter, I sometimes get a solid full scale signal reading and the device shows the GPRS icon next to the signal display, but the minute it looses signal, I'm back to the "toggling" routine. The other noticeable fact is that when the device is on charge it seems to work just fine, good signal, no missed calls, etc. I've installed a brand new high capacity battery and it has made no difference to the problem. Any ideas or suggestions?.......perhaps it's time to sling it in the trash and buy a decent unit!!
