Making button lock phone 8125

Is there any way to change one of the buttons on the phone to lock my phone. I see where you can change the buttons but its not giving me that program for an option. Its a pita to pull out the pointer every time i get ready to stick it in my pocket. I got big fingers so i can quite do it that way.

I don't know of a way to assign a button for phone lock without the use of a third party app, but you can create a shortcut on your Today screen by going to Settings> Today, then check "Device Lock". Then on the Today screen, you could just tap "Device Unlocked" or navigate to it using the D-pad or scroll wheel. I've been happy locking my phone that way.

Yeah, that's what I've been doing so far. What I want to do is use the soft key to do it, because it's easier. I've kind of vaguely heard of an app that allows you to change the softkeys to whatever you want, but now that I go and look for the post that mentioned it I can't find it...

Try this this softkey applet. It may do what you are looking for.
