OS reboot/reload...

Does or has anyone heard of rebooting the OS on PPC's? I am having some software issues with mine and I fear the only fix is reloading my OS. I know if I have any major issues with my laptop/desktop I can reboot windows completely, but haven't seen any evidence if the same being possible with my ipaq. Please help. Thanks.

In the Pocket PC world this is known as a Soft reset. There must be a small button somewhere around your device that you need to press with your stylus. Check your user manual? What model do you have?

Wow thanks for the prompt reply! I have an Ipaq h5555. I have done a soft reset and a hard reset and everything in between. My problem is my fingerprint ID software will not work, my calender, inbox and main navigation buttons don't work, and my unit will not charge with my wall or car charger. It only charges when it is in my cradle and only when the cradle is linked to my PC. The unit will not accept AC power at all.

This all started when I tried to udate my BIOS, firmware, and drivers on HP's website. other than those issues the unit works great. That is why I think if can just completely reboot my system, it just might solve my problem. This feels like a BIOS/driver problem to me.

I have tried updating my Firmware again, but the HP update download will not let me update my firmware because my unit will not accept AC power. It gets almost there, then it says "AC power is not connected, please connect AC power and try again" then it kicks me out of the install.

I am probably fighting a losing battle, but it's the challenge that keeps me going.
