I put mine in the Windows folder. I use MP3s and WAVs. And they show up in Sounds and Notifications.

Well i think i have just got this sorted you have to have wav files for them to be used as message tones, i put mp3's and waves in the windows folder but only the wav's showed up, so i use these now and all is working fine

Fellow K-Jam users, youy will only be able to use .wav files for message notifications. Mp3's will do the job for ringtones, however your messages will only use .wav files - I have tried everything including registry edits to date wihtout success for the last twelve months.

On another tact there are numerous trial version of software converters that give you five or ten free conversions of mp3 to .wav or vice versa if you were after a secific mp3 to use as a notification. I have had success with this process to get the sound I wanted. Hope this helps for suggestions.
