I recently got a cingular 8125 and have not been able to use my wifi. Im depending on getting wifi from other people because I dont have a wireless router and would want to use the wifi on my phone while im not at home.
Most of the things on wififofum say wep on. What is wep?? And also hardly any say wep off?
Today I finnaly made a connection where the wifi was connected, but on the browser it said page cannot be displayed, but the wifi was connected.
I have deleted gprs and medianet because I plan to only use free wifi.
Maybe I have some settings wrong???
Could somebody give me their exact settings on everything having to do with wifi such as am I supposed to put it to connect under work network or ISP?? Also whats ISP ICD??

OK AMIGO FIRST OF ALL, YOU DONT NEED TO WORRY ABAUT CHANGING THE SETTING FOR THE WIFI ON THE PHONE. HERE ARE THE THINGS U NEED TO DO .
1:TURN ON ON WIFI. (ON THE TOP LEFT CORNER OF THE PHONE PRESS THE BUTTON AND CLICK ON THE SCREEN WIFI)
2:TURN ON THE ALARM FOR THE WIFI DETECTION , GOTO AUDIO SETTINGS AND TURN ON WIRELESS AUDIO . THIS IS JUST TO KNOW IF THERES HOT SPOT NEAR THE PHONE EVERYTIME YOUR PHONE DETECTS A WIFI CONECTION IT WILL MAKE A SOUND AND IT WILL APEAR ON THE SCREEN.
3:GO TO A PLACE THAT YOU ARE SURE THEY HAVE FREE WIFI CONN FOR THE INTERNET. WHEN YOUR THERE THE PHONE WILL TELL YOU IF U WANT TO CONNECT TO THE INTERNET SAY YES.
4: OPEN THE WEB BROWSER THE INTERNET EXPLORER.
Alrite Ive gona to many places where I know they have wifi and it has connected. But it still says page cannot be displayed.... Something wrong with my settings maybe??? like this phone connects to the internet?? or this phone connects to work?? ANYONE ANY IDEAS????
What page are you trying to go to? What is your Home page? If you are trying to go to media net then it will say that unless you are set to connect to it. Try typing in Google into the url bar. and see if it is just whatever your home page is set to.
