I have transfered by contacts from my laptop Outlook to my new Cingular 8125. I would also like to transfer my contact info from my Toshiba e310 PDA to my 8125. Can I do this and how? Do I have to add the data in my PDA to my Outlook first and then do a sync? I have a lot of data in my PDA that is different contact info from my Outlook contacts.
Thanks.
Hmm. Off the top of my head (this may not work at all)
1) Create a new separate folder in your Outlook contacts (folder view > right click on contacts, new folder) and drag all your existing contacts into that folder. <this is to safeguard your existing contacts from somehow being erased.>
2) Create a new partnership with your laptop and the e310. Sync the contacts from the e310 to the laptop.
3) Verify that you have all your e310 contacts in your "main" contacts folder, and all your "laptop" contacts in the new folder we created. If all looks okay, COPY (not move) your "laptop" contacts into your "main" contacts folder. This way you have a backup of your "laptop" contacts.
4) Partner your 8125 with your laptop, and sync as usual --> all the laptop contacts (which is now your "laptop" contacts plus your "e310" contacts) should sync with the 8125, and you should have a huge mess of contacts on the 8125.
Again, this is by no means a definitive how-to, just some steps to use as a guideline.
Why didn't I think of that. Thanks for your suggestion.
What I ended up doing was to sync PDA contacts with outlook on my laptop which worked perfectly--then sync my laptop with my 8125 and they both ended up with everything perfect. Thanks again for your time.
