complete newbie with a 8525

Hi,

I have a few issues

1. When I connect my 8525 to my pc - my pc can not find the drivers and instal the device correctly. The drivers do not appear to be on the disc that came with the device. Where do I find the drivers?

2. ringtones - I previously use freeringers.net to relay mp3 files to my old cellphone so I could make my own ring towns. Where do I have to store the files to use them as ringtones?

3. Saw a couple of other threads and they show you how to go into the registry and make changes - how to you get to the registry editor?

thanks

1) You need to install activesync on your pc. That is the best way to transfer files and such.

2) \windows\rings or ringers or ringtones, I believe it varies for each device.

3) You need a free registry editor, this is the one i use: PHM RegEdit - be warned, however; registry changes can mess up your device. Be careful!

Insurance

I would look in to contacting lock/line for independent insurance, or your renter's policy may cover it.

Thanks for the reply, but I am a homeowner, and I probably could get coverage on my homeowner policy, but I have a bid deductible.

yeah, also i think this may be happening cuz i have no drivers and stuff, the thing is i got this phone used, and the person who owned it before me lost the driver CD... so can anyone please give me copy of theirs? or mabe at least tell me where can i get them?
Also, when i try to connct, both phone and pc see each other and they both try tto synchronize... and as soon as i plug my 8525, activesync pops up..that means that it found connected mobile device, right? i also went on that help tthing(it sais press ok to troubleshoot) nothing really helpful there =\

ok, nevermiind, i solved the problem, it was windows firewall that was blocking the connection between phone and pc =)
