Question Custom ring tones for incoming SMS

Hi all,

I have found a lot of info about setting custom ringtones for contacts and groups, but I cannot seem to find anything about setting custom ringtones for incoming sms messages. Anyone know how or a good program that will let me set group ringtones for incoming call AND SMS messages?

Thanks,
Steven

Try Pocketmax's PhoneAlarm. It's a great program with great developer support, and there's a free trial. I have been using it for quite some time now.

Hmm, I think you're right Eyerone - it doesn't let you assign a different ringtone per incoming SMS number...does any program?

Sorry about that, I don't think phonealarm is what you're looking for, pfalcon!

Custom SMS tones per contact!

linky here to the whole gigantic thread

The thread is horrendously long, but basically you download the zip file, unzip, install, soft reset, and then there's a little tray icon that looks like a cell phone.

here's the link to the latest version of the file

Can't say it much better than this guy: clear, simple instructions

Good luck~

Actually you can set custom ring tones per contact or contact group for SMS messages. I tried a program called Ringo that worked quite nicely, Electric Pocket: Mobile and Wireless Solutions - Home
I also emailed Pocketmax and they told me that custome ring tones for SMS messages will be in their next release in a month or so.

Did you purchase Ringo?

The program I linked to (MortRing) is absolutely free!

No I just used the trial. I liked Pocketmax better, so I am waiting until they release their new version.

Good call - I really like their phonealarm program, and the developer is always releasing updates and really listens to user feedback.

Thanks for the update on phonealarm!
