Hi everybody this is my first thread and i'm also a first time owner for a PDA so i'm basically new to everything. First off i would like to say what a wonderful job everyone's doing posting all these helpful tips..I recently purchased a cingular 8125 a few days ago and i love it but i am still trying to get use to all the functions. I bought this phone not with a Cingular provider but with T-mobile. Everything on the phone seems to work right but i'm having some problems with the Wifi. I just bought a Linksys wireless router for my house and everytime i try to get connected it would have no problems detecting the router but i cannot browse the internet or anything for that matter. Everytime i try to go online it would start to dial a Cingular number then say Cannot Connect To Modem. At first when i bought it i didn't think that being on a T-mobile network would affect the wireless connection but i'm starting to think that. I'm not to good with networking so that can also be a factor. Can somebody PLEASE help me with this problem, any information would be much appreciated!!...Thank you............My e-mail is dungnps@gmail.com
The problem might be that your phone is set to only connect to the Internet and such using the ISP CSD line or the ISP GPRS line. Goto Settings> Connections> Connections> My ISP> Manage Existing Connections. Make sure your Auto pick feature is selected. If that doesn't fix the problem right away you can delete the default Cingular ISP CSD line number or just fully delete all the default ISP CSD&GPRS by tapping and holding then selecting delete. This should fix your problem considering the device sees the router but does not connect to it and you are no longer using the Cingular ISP CSD&GPRS lines. I don't know if T-Mobile has a ISP CSD or GPRS modem number but that's something you need to find out from them.
