I'm new to forums and pocket pcs; sorry if this is an obvious question posted in the wrong section.
I just got a Cingular 8125 pocket pc. I uploaded some music files to use as ringtones, but now it won't allow me to delete any of them. An "Error deleting file" window pops up that says that file cannot be deleted, there has been a sharing violation, and that the source or destination file may be in use.
Thanks for your reply. In the end the only thing that worked was to stop running all of the programs - even though I was closing them they were essentially just minimized and still running. For anyone interested:
Start -settings -system - memory - running programs - stop all. Then I navigated to file explorer - rings - delete. Of course, if you play the file, the program is running again and you'll have to start all over.
Ah, yes. That 'X' button has confused users for years. The fact that it operates the opposite of desktop Windows does not help. You will find that most task managers allow you to change the 'X' behavior from minimize to close. You can find some options in the downloads section of this site; you can also check sites like pdagold.com and freewarepocketpc.net for freeware apps.
Pocket Plus is a good commercial addition. Another commercial option I like as a true task manager is Dinarsoft's HandySwitcher - small footprint and does one thing well.
