Now, the problem is, I have an i-mate K-JAM phone I just got from someone. It won't come on for some reason. I thought that the battery was dead and I know that you have to charge it using an USB port. So I went to WalMart and bought a 5 pin port that converts into a USB port. I plugged it into my computer to charge and usually when a phone charges, a light come on. This was not the case with this one. I thought that maybe I had to be working on my computer for it to charge. So I brought the phone to my job and plugged it in my computer here because I use this computer everyday all day. Still, no light came on. Please tell me what's up with this? Did I buy the wrong thing? Am I supposed to buy an i-mate K-JAM charger?
Do you have a wall charger? Try a wall charger and don't turn it on. leave it there for a while. If your battery has absolutely no life, It may not show signs of charging up because it has no power to display that its being charged. Try leaving it alone for a night and see what happens the next day. Also I hear that charging your phone by USB is really slow.
Some USB ports do not have enough power to charge a phone or much of anything for that matter... My PC USB will not charge anything.. not even my MP3 player becouse its not a high speed USB.. but my laptop will charge anything i plug into it, even when i use ActiveSync with my 8125 it will charge.. I would try the wall charger, or check to make sure you have a high speed USB.. and also as shimazuc said, if the battery if absolutely dead it can take awhile to charge... also, you could try getting a new battery to see if thats really the problem.. good luck
