Hey guys, I'm new to the forum. I used to have a the Audiovox 5600 Smartphone. I upgraded to the Cingular 8125.
On my 5600, I hade unlimited Medianet. When I bought the 8125, they told me in order for me to get the $100 rebate, I had to get the unlimited data plan. I said okay.
So, my plan reads as follows:
ANYTIME MIN ROLLOVER $0.00 450 ANYTIME MINS $0.00 NATION GAIT/GSM $0.00 EQUIP INSURANCE PREM $3.99 FL ROAM WITH HOME $0.00 NO LONG DISTANCE WHILE ROAMING $0.00 CINGULAR NATIONWIDE TOLL FREE $0.00 OFF-NETWORK ROAM $0.00 UNLIMITED EXPANDED M2M-N/C $0.00 5000 NIGHT/WKND MINS CTH $0.00 TEXT MESSAGING 1000 $9.99 MEDIA NET UNLIMITED $19.99
Now, I was under the impression that the unlimited plan for the 8125 was $40 a month, or are they just holding true since I had the rate before?
Reason for all these questions, is I'm getting a "Cannot Connect" error on my 8125.
"Cannont Connect
Dialed +14152441012
No modem at above number. To check your connection settings and change them if needed, tap Settings."
When it is dialing, it says dialing using cellular line.
Here's the clincher, I have full signal right now, and it's experiencing the problem. But, sometimes it doesn't do it and connects just fine. The phone doesn't ring when someone calls me when it's doing this, it just goes straight to voice mail, and the backlight stays lit up constantly.
Oh, and I was having problems the other night at a friends house, it refused to send any text messages, they would just stay in the Outbox, but the Edge stuff was working fine most of the time I was at her house. That hasn't acted up again... yet!
I'm sure it was just a sales pitch. I had arguing with the people, and work is paying for the phone anyways, but I probably could have gotten it without the data plan. I use the crap out if it anyways, so it won't kill work to pay for it Ask the other employee that didn't know better on his 5600 and got a $700 phone bill for internet
On the original topic, I went into the settings, and changed it to only connect via the GPRS and not the "My ISP CSD".
