I setup my email to my yahoo account today on my new 8125 but it doesn't automatically download new email? I must go in and select send/receive....is the correct? Or is the a setting I'm missing....thought it would be pushed to me????
I just used the Xpress Mail that came with the 8125....pretty simple to setup. Yahoo POP is the type of mail server....nothing special in regards to your email.
AFAIK, Yahoo does not support push on their POP access.
Although POP access is a paid option, the annual access fee is very small. I think my last charge was $15 for a year renewal. The storage is also increased when you purchase one of the Mail Plus subscription options.
Ah ha.....makes sense now especially since I had made sure PUSH was enabled on the phone and my friends with a different ISP were getting their email pushed to them.
Final Chapter.... I just went into the Xpress Settings and enabled both PUSH and Scheduled Updates and I just got an email "pushed" to my phone. So maybe both settings have to be on for Yahoo or ???
I am thinking that your device is now doing a periodic query of the Yahoo POP server for new mail since you have activated the schedule option. There is no mention of push support on the Yahoo site.
